Cybersecurity and Your Dental Practice

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month and Digital Technology Partners is dedicating this month to educating the dental community on the importance of cybersecurity.

October is the perfect month for cybersecurity awareness because the potential risk of a breach or cyberattack is one of the scariest threats to your practice. However, with the proper support, monitoring, and guidance you can safeguard your practice – freeing you up to focus on your patients and growing your business.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month

Cybersecurity Awareness Month was created by the Department of Homeland Security and the National Cyber Security Alliance in October 2004. It was launched in an effort to help Americans stay safe with the rapidly growing Internet use and increase of cybercrime.

Since its inception, cybersecurity awareness has grown even more important as our lives and businesses become increasingly digitized. Many high-ranking US officials have been part of the event including former DHS Secretaries and Presidents. This month, Digital Technology Partners also wants to do our part to help educate and protect our colleagues in the dental industry.

Protecting Your Practice

Cybersecurity Awareness Month is a good time to assess (or re-assess) the security of your dental practice. Of course, we realize that as a dentist your focus is on providing excellent patient care, not on cybersecurity and technology.

This is our area of expertise at Digital Technology Partners.

We manage all aspects of your dental IT and security. With more than 15 years of experience serving over 500 practices throughout the southeast, we partner exclusively with dental practices to serve the specific needs of today’s dentist.

Cybersecurity doesn’t have to be scary. We invite you to schedule a brief, no-obligation phone conversation to discuss the security of your dental practice. We’ll help you discover your security strengths and weaknesses and provide you with the knowledge you need to protect your dental practice and grow your business!
