Meet the Team Monday: Shawn Adkins

This week, we’re featuring DTP’s E-Waste Manager, Shawn Adkins! Since joining the Digital Technology Partners team in March, Shawn has played a vital role in the launch and implementation of our Work4Eli division. Get to know Shawn below!

Tell us some details about your role at Digital Technology Partners.

I do work for the Work4Eli project where we accept product from dental offices for recycle or sell. 100% of the profits go toward Work4Eli. On top of that, I do pickups and deliveries for DTP. I can honestly say there is never a dull moment.

Where are you originally from?

I am from Livingston, Montana.

What’s something people would be surprised to learn about you?

I have a film degree from the University of Utah. I was part of a project where one of the scripts I wrote and filmed was sent to the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. I didn’t win but I did get noticed.

What’s something everyone should do at least once?

Being from Montana, my grandmother (who has passed) ran an outfitters business where we would take hunters out on horseback to various spots based on their tags. One of my favorite things was to unsaddle/bridle the horses and have them swim. You just grab on the back of their mane and hold on. It’s surprising how well they do in water. Nothing is like it.

What were the first and last concerts you went to?

Since my mother could not find a babysitter, my first concert was Barry Manilow in 1978…good times. My last concert was Concrete Blonde.

What movie have you seen the most times?

It would have to be a toss-up between Citizen Kane and Goodfellas.

What’s your favorite meal?

I would have to say Italian. Anything Italian. Love Italian.

What are your top 3 favorite video games?

Top three would be Galaga (arcade), Empire Strikes Back (arcade), and La Noire (Xbox).

Tell us one truth and one lie.

My second cousin is Trace Adkins and I find ironing to be very cathartic.

What are your hobbies?

My favorite hobbies are reading (James Patterson) and lately have gotten into podcasts. I have been thinking about having my own podcast which could turn into a hobby.

Thanks for getting to know Shawn! Stay tuned each Monday to meet the rest of the Digital Technology Partners team.
