Meet the Team Monday: Levi Shores

This week’s featured employee is Levi Shores, DTP’s Operations Manager. In his role, Levi oversees the entirety of our service department. In his own words, he works “to ensure that our processes are consistent, complete, and meet the needs of all customers. From technical policy setting to team member management, I try to keep the gears of the machine running smoothly.” Keep reading to learn more about Levi.

Where are you originally from?
Hobbs, New Mexico

How long have you been with DTP?
I started in January 2011, so 8, going on 9 years. I started as a field service technician, and have done just about every job in the service and project departments before putting down roots in the head office.

What’s something you could give a 30-minute presentation on with absolutely no preparation?
Setting aside any computer subjects: segmented vessel turning on the wood lathe.

What’s your favorite problem you’ve ever solved for a customer?
Probably any situation where we’re called in to a desperate situation by a non-customer and can save the day. I love it when we can pull out the superhero capes.

What do you like on your pizza?
Ham, pineapple, jalapenos, BBQ sauce…I don’t care what the world thinks of me.

What’s something everyone should do at least once?
Go on a solo overnight camping trip (just did this one recently myself)

What’s something people would be surprised to learn about you?
I go through hobbies like I change clothes…

What piece of technology, old or new, is your favorite?
Telephony. I have a phone system fetish.

What’s something you wish you knew more about?
Metal fabrication, machining, and welding
